No more Gobbleygook

This project is all about encouraging adults to play by making a poster campaign for Lego. While researching into play I found that playing reduces the risk of getting dementia by 30%. Dementia is a disease that affects a lot of old people and their families with 10 million new cases each year, so this campaign would bring awareness to this. After I decided on this insight, I picked elderly people from the age of 67 and upwards as my focused target audience. Through more research I found activities that are proven to help reduce the risk of dementia are baking, playing games, gardening and many more. This later helped inform the imagery for my posters. Language is another thing I wanted to nail in this project, so I looked at 1950s slang to help write my slogan allowing my audience to understand it better. ‘No more gobbledygook just play’ was my chosen slogan with gobbledygook meaning nonsense. My campaign typeface is collated from magazines with gobbledygook having an array of type to show nonsense. As for the background I wanted to show the feeling of freedom the elderly would get from these activities so I made a mixed collage.
